MMFF Extends Screening Run in Select Cinemas Until January 14

The Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) has extended the theatrical run of its official entries in select cinemas until January 14, as announced by Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Chairman Atty. Don Artes.
Public Demand Drives Extension
Atty. Artes explained that the extension follows strong public demand and appreciation for this year’s festival entries. He also thanked moviegoers for their continued support of the 50th edition of the MMFF.
“We, at the MMFF, are overwhelmed with the continued support of the public for the festival’s 50th edition. Due to public clamor, we have decided to extend the theatrical run of the MMFF movies to further showcase the locally produced films that are truly impressive and artistically excellent,” Artes said in a press release.
Originally set to end on January 7, the festival will now provide moviegoers additional time to enjoy the local films. MMFF complimentary passes will remain valid throughout the extended period.
Supporting Local Cinema
The MMFF plays a key role in promoting Filipino talent and creativity. Proceeds from the festival benefit organizations including the Movie Workers Welfare Foundation (Mowelfund), the Film Academy of the Philippines, the Motion Picture Anti-Film Piracy Council, the Optical Media Board, and the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP).
